Baller League: A blessing or a curse for English futsal?

Brash, brazen and unapologetic. Baller League is here to stay. But how will it impact English futsal?

When competing for a share of the gargantuan English football market, it always helps to have Luis Figo, Alan Shearer, Santan Dave and KSI involved from the start, just to give you a little helping hand.

It’s just over 18 months since the first Baller League UK matchday took place, in January 2025, at London's Copperbox Arena.

A decade ago, in March 2016, it hosted the England men’s national futsal team, where 1,430 fans watched the Three Lions put seven past Sweden.

More recently, it has hosted end-of-season showpieces for YouTube futsal sensations, LDN Movements FC, drawing crowds of more than 2,000.
